NEWS: September, 2005 – Grant Awarded. Dr. Bonnie Grossen received grant award notification in August, with a project start date of September 1, 2005. October, 2005 – CSR Project Directors' Conference, Washington DC (October 17-18, 2005). Drs. Grossen and Rebar attended the Project Directors' meeting in Washington DC. November, 2005 – NIFDI and CARE partner with the Centre for Management and Technology (CMAT) to develop a comprehensive progress monitoring website. The web application will allow teachers, principals, and other stakeholders to develop on-demand reports of student progress. The original version of this database was developed by CMAT for use with the Baltimore Curriculum Project. February, 2006 – Progress monitoring website preview posted. Please visit our team page. March, 2006 – Project staff completed an initial validation study of a software-based data collection procedure to be used in our 'Funnix Study.' The software collects data on student usage patterns, response latency, and accuracy of responses. Project staff submitted a conference proposal based on this methodology. June, 2006 – Dr. Rebar will present a paper entitled "Retroactively Engineering Educational Software for Data Collection Using Event Filters and XML Schemas" at the Science and Technology Literacy in the 21st Century Conference.
